Artist Statement

In love with color and texture.

Irena and Ros are working together, creating art like the creative couple. It doesn't matter if this painting or sculpture, if this is monochrome or full of colors - it will always be with the right balanced tones and textures. It causes aesthetic pleasure. It is suitable for modern interior.

In their art, Irena and Ros often make a non-standard presentation of usual life. By enlarging, hyperbolizing or using metaphors they propose you take a fresh look at the nature of familiar things. There are often many details in their artworks. Some of them look like a crazy mix, but they are not beyond. Each time is it right enough despite the first impression of "too much".

The color intuition helps Irena and Ros to create the right balanced tone mood even in detailed and big artworks.

They can work both in realism, hardly working on every single detail, and be close to abstraction, preferring forms to details. They are working with a thematic series and loves the large formats.

Understanding the material's nature and physical processes helps to combine the different types in the artworks. Artists are working with linen and cotton canvas, acrylic, plastic, metal and stones. Ros and Irena are creating the form, shape, and volume of sculptures and mixed-media paintings and after they are covering them by colors together, using acrylic, pigments, gold leaf imitation, and varnish.
